I became a counsellor after 35 years of teaching nursery- grade three in the public school system. During my teaching career I gained my master’s degree in counselling. I am certified by Canadian Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association (CCPA), license number 1251. I have worked as a counsellor at Renaissance for more than 10 years.

I am a trained facilitator in several parenting programs; Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting and Circle of Security are two of the programs. These programs focus on supporting the development of supportive and nurturing relationships with the family.
In the past few years, I have become very interested in the impact that trauma has on people, on relationships and on mental and emotional health. I have taken a few courses and trainings to develop my knowledge and skills on this topic.
Another area of interest, reading and study is learning about grief and the grief process. Supporting others in their grief journey has become meaningful area of work for me.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I use expressive arts methods and play therapy approaches. I teach clients about brain development, emotional regulation, emotional literacy, healthy boundaries, and supportive relationships. The tools I use are children’s literature, games, mindfulness, creating, art, journaling and any strategies or tools that lead to the developing of a strong trusting client therapist relationship.
